On-time payments are an important factor in your credit score, and having them reported helps you build a reliable credit history that can lead to better loan rates, higher credit limits, and stronger financial opportunities.

Enrollment begins automatically during the first month of your lease. Leases starting in August will enjoy the first month of rent reporting service for free. After that, Catalyst Rent Reporting will continue to report your rent payments for only $8.95/month, giving you ongoing credit-building benefits with minimal effort.

No credit card or loan is required. Catalyst Rent Reporting helps you build your credit score simply by reporting the rent you're already paying. It's a great way for students and first-time renters to establish credit without taking on new debt or opening a traditional credit account.

Absolutely. Primary residents can opt out of Catalyst Rent Reporting at any time, with no penalties or fees. If you choose to cancel, your rent payments will stop being reported to the credit bureaus. We make it easy to start — and just as easy to stop — so you're always in control.

Good news — there's nothing you need to do to get started. If you rent an eligible apartment, you'll be automatically enrolled in Catalyst Rent Reporting at the start of your lease. You can opt out at any time, but we recommend staying enrolled to get the long-term benefits of building your credit score through rent reporting.

We report rent payments on a monthly basis. Typically, your on-time rent will show on your credit report within 30 days of submission. For new accounts, please allow 60–90 days after your first reported payment for it to appear on your credit file. Credit bureaus make the final determination on what is posted to a credit history and when.

No — we only report positive rent payments. That means if you ever miss a payment or are late, it won't be reported by Catalyst Rent Reporting. This makes rent reporting a safe way to build credit history without the risks typically associated with traditional credit cards or loans.

Multiple or consecutive missed or late payments may subject participants to removal from credit reporting.

Yes! When you move into an eligible apartment, you'll be automatically enrolled in Catalyst Rent Reporting and receive a free one-month trial (August only) of our rent reporting service. During this time, your on-time rent payments will be reported to Experian* at no cost, helping you start building your credit from day one.
